From Records to Republikken
If you’ve recently stopped by the front desk at Republikken, you’ve probably met Kristos—friendly, helpful, and always with a spark in his eye.
At this week’s Community Breakfast, you had the chance to meet our (somewhat) new colleague. Welcome to Kristos and there’s more to Kristos than just a warm welcome. Behind the desk stands a lifelong musician, DJ, and newly minted sound engineer, blending his Greek roots with global rhythms.
Kristos’ story starts in Vesterbro, raised in a proud Greek household. Where music filled the home and dinner guests never left hungry. He began DJing at age 15, spinning electronica and hip hop, and now releases music under BAKLAMA—his Greek-influenced project that fuses languages, cultures, and beats into something uniquely his.
A Creative Life Beyond the Desk
When he’s not helping members at Republikken or lending a hand in the kitchen (yes, he does that too), Kristos is crafting tracks in his studio. With a shiny new degree in sound engineering, he handles every part of production—recording, mixing, even shaping the acoustics for live performances.
He’s already released an EP (find it on Spotify!) and has a full album dropping next month. Inspired by hip hop, Brazil, and the mountains of Northern Greece, his music spans genres and languages—often sung in Greek and Danish. You might also catch him DJing weddings or local venues, always tuned in to what gets people moving.
Keep Your Eyes—and Ears—Open
Kristos is living proof that Republikken attracts creators with many layers. Whether you need directions to a meeting room, a track mixed, or a party playlist—he’s your guy. Oh, and rumor has it, we’re due for a Greek party sometime soon…
