This Thursday, Community Breakfast took us on a thoughtful journey through startups, scaleups, and everything in between. Listening to Thomas, it felt like following a career shaped by curiosity and a willingness to keep moving forward.
From Cambridge to Startups
Thomas’ journey took off in Cambridge, where he co founded a small software company with a friend.
What began as a simple idea quickly grew into something impactful. Their product ended up being used by companies like Uber, Lime, and Amazon.
Not bad for two people in their early twenties.
As the company evolved, Thomas felt ready to explore new directions, and that curiosity has been a driving force ever since.
Learning at Full Speed
Back in Denmark, Thomas joined the startup scene and later became part of Butter, followed by a role at a fast growing video tech company.
Here, he experienced what scaling really looks like. Teams, hiring, big decisions, and everything that comes with it.
It meant a lot of learning. A lot of responsibility. And one small realization.
He missed building. The actual creating part.
Back to Building
Today, Thomas works at Typefully, a small, bootstrapped team of five people building a writing and publishing tool used by companies around the world.
A very different setup. And very much on purpose.
Here, he is back to designing, building, and actually shipping things again. And the way he talks about it, it is clear this is where he thrives.
AI, Workflows, and What is Next
Of course, the conversation also touched on AI. Thomas shared how more and more users interact with their product through APIs and AI tools.
Not replacing the product, but expanding how it is used. Building workflows, automating tasks, and skipping a few clicks along the way.
It is still early days, but clearly something is shifting. And while no one in the room claimed to have all the answers, it definitely sparked curiosity.
You are more than welcome to reach out and connect with Thomas.
And if you happen to know a really good tennis spot in Copenhagen, he would definitely love to hear from you.
