This Thursday’s Community Breakfast introduced us to one of Republikken’s newest members , Filip – works with ai comment moderation and who joined in February. Originally from Slovakia, Filip later moved to Denmark. He recently left the somewhat lonely world of working from home and has since found a warm welcome here at Republikken.
Filip’s story starts where many tech legends begin: teenage hacking. He found a flaw in his future high school’s website and couldn’t resist testing it. Fast forward to today, he’s now co-founder and CTO of Trollwall – a company using AI to make social media safer.
Fighting Trolls, One Comment at a Time
Trollwall is an AI-powered moderation tool that filters hate speech, threats, and spam from social media. It’s a 24/7 digital watchdog, built to support politicians, public figures, and brands dealing with toxic traffic. Their tech is so sharp, it’s approaching human-level accuracy across nine languages – from Slovak to Mexican Spanish.
Filip’s mission is simple: no one should have to experience hatred or threats in their comment section.
Censorship or Community?
Filip spoke candidly about the ethical tightrope his team walks – balancing moderation with free speech. Trollwall uses international guidelines to define hate speech and lets users fine-tune their own filters. It’s about protecting conversation, not censoring criticism.
Now rooted in Copenhagen, Filip is looking to connect with other startup minds, especially those who love tech and building things from scratch. He might be new to the startup scene, but his insights are already gold.
You’ll find him upstairs – just follow the sound of someone passionately talking about vector databases and comment sections.
Let’s just say: thanks to Filip, the trolls don’t stand a chance.
