Canta con Jess presenting at Community Breakfast

From YouTube to Books: Jesica ’s Journey of Teaching Through Music

This Thursday’s Community Breakfast at Republikken was nothing short of inspirational. We met Jesica – or Jess, if you will – the powerhouse behind Canta Con Jess, a playful and purposeful project teaching kids Spanish through music and video.

Born in Argentina, seasoned in New York, and now sharing her story in Copenhagen, Jess has built a bilingual bridge through catchy songs and engaging visuals. What began as a creative YouTube channel turned into a full-blown business with her own educational apps, sound books for toddlers, and even licensed toys.

When Copycats Spark Innovation

Most people would panic if they found their work being sold on Amazon without permission. Not Jess. She negotiated with the toy seller, turned a copyright nightmare into a licensing agreement, and proved that kindness can be a strategy. Her voice – quite literally – ended up powering thousands of toys, a testament to what resilience can build.

Building a Business for Little Learners

From battling app-store restrictions to navigating customs, manufacturing, compliance, and even IP challenges across countries, Jess has worn every entrepreneurial hat imaginable. Her latest adventure? Launching a baby-proofed, lab-certified sound book that teaches basics like colors and numbers – all set to her original music.

What’s Next?

Jess dreams of expanding her educational content, creating new toys, and bringing her work to more countries. She’s also open to helping fellow creators scale, protect their IP, and understand the ins and outs of app development.

So if you’re in Republikken and want to know what grit, creativity, and multilingual magic look like – Jess is the one to talk to.
