From Mini Dragons to Ministerial Windmills – Meet Magnus

At today’s Community Breakfast, we got to meet Magnus—our resident 3D printing expert at Republikken Create. He and his team help bring all kinds of ideas to life—whether it’s prototypes for product development, props for artists, or precision parts for engineers.

They’ve even made windmill models for government ministers and medical gear for neonatal transport beds. Basically, if you can dream it, Magnus can probably print it.

His workshop across the street is packed with machines that laser cut, CNC mill, and 3D print everything from giant sculptures to mini dragons.

How Magnus Got Here

Funny thing—Magnus didn’t plan this career at all.

He started out working with children and daycare. But after 15 years, he felt the need for a change. Someone noticed his growing obsession with 3D printing and suggested he try turning his hobby into something more. One call to Claus at Create, and—boom—he was in.

During his internship, Magnus was handed two broken (and very expensive) printers. Armed with bravery, spare parts, and a mountain of YouTube wisdom, he brought them both back to life.

That win gave him something he hadn’t felt in a long time—confidence.

“It taught me that fear shouldn’t hold you back,” he said. “And when those printers switched on again? Best feeling ever.”

Dandelions, Dragons & Creative Firepower

Magnus’s creations span from fantasy figurines to real-world inventions.

One of his recent favourites? A dandelion-inspired watering pot. It uses leaf-shaped funnels to guide water into tricky flower pots—a small but poetic solution to a daily annoyance.

So, why dandelions? Because they’re tough, underestimated, and quietly brilliant.
Much like Magnus himself.
