This Thursday’s Community Breakfast at Republikken served up a nostalgic slice of the 90s, guitar riffs included, with a very real lesson in music tech.
Meet Adam Rose: former London rocker, now metadata mastermind, and Republikken’s newest coworker in our ever-growing Coworking Community scene.
From Stage Lights to Data Rights
Adam’s journey is as analog as it is digital. Once a touring guitarist during the rise and fall of Britpop, he’s now the digital catalogue and account manager at Music Manager ApS, a company that owns a treasure trove of music catalogs, ranging from 80s UK hip hop to ambient meditation tracks.
His mission? Bringing old music into the new age by cleaning up messy metadata, digitizing forgotten albums, and uncovering revenue lost in the chaos of bad data.
He’s even helping major labels fix gaps in global distribution. Sometimes an album is missing from a country where it should be available, and that small error could mean thousands in lost revenue.
Building Tools for a Better Music Industry
Adam and his team have developed a tool that audits metadata and checks for delivery gaps. It even estimates how much money might be missing. Think of it as a “show me the money” button.
But for Adam, this work isn’t just about numbers. It’s about getting the right people paid. That includes musicians, producers, and even that forgotten drummer.
The Musician in the Machine
Despite his tech-heavy role, Adam hasn’t lost his musical soul. He still plays guitar, when he’s not being serenaded by Blackpink with his nine-year-old daughter.
Another passion? Digging through old tapes to find tracks that time forgot and giving them a second life.
Welcome, Adam. We’re glad Republikken is your next tour stop.
