This Thursday at Community Breakfast, we met Line, who shared one of the most honest and relatable talks we have had around the table.
Line works with communication at merrild-jensen ApS , a compliance and ISO consultancy. A field that, at first glance, can seem technical, complex, and a little corporate.
But for Line, the interesting part has been the challenge of understanding something difficult and then making it clearer, more accessible, and easier for others to relate to.
From Complexity to Clarity
At merrild-jensen ApS, Line works with visual identity, strategy, presentations, structure, and communication.
The work quickly became more than just “making things look better.” It became about seeing what was unclear, finding the right way to explain it, and helping a small company create more focus around its ideas.
There is something powerful in that. Taking material that feels heavy or complicated and turning it into something people can actually understand.
That skill is useful in almost any field. But as Line shared, understanding what you are good at does not always mean knowing exactly where you belong.
Movement, Energy and New Directions
Away from the screen, Line is all about movement.
Running, roller skating, cycling, skiing, crossfit in the sun, swimming, and now also sailing. She recently became a sailing instructor in Brøndby, teaching people the practical side of being on the water.
That part of her story brought a clear contrast to her work life behind the computer.
Line spoke openly about wanting a more active, social, and varied work life. One where she can use her energy, curiosity, and many different interests without feeling locked into one narrow path.
Sitting With Uncertainty
One of the strongest parts of Line’s talk was her honesty about not having everything figured out.
While she is still working at merrild-jensen ApS, she also spoke openly about exploring what might come next.
Maybe she will study again. Maybe she will move in a new direction. Maybe she will teach. Maybe she will build something herself. Right now, the next step is still open.
And that was exactly what made the conversation so human.
Many people know the feeling of trying to plan everything, control the outcome, and find the perfect answer before moving forward. But sometimes the brave thing is to stop forcing clarity too early.
As one piece of advice from the room put it: build the helicopter on the way up.
Why It Matters
Line’s story was not only about work, communication, or career choices.
It was about listening to yourself. About knowing when something has taught you enough. About allowing new things to enter your life, even before you know exactly what they are.
It was a reminder that uncertainty is not always a problem to solve. Sometimes it is a space to move through.
Thank you for sharing so openly, Line. We are very happy to have you in the Republikken community.
